Portrait of Charles Garcia, photographer in Geneva

My name is Charles Garcia. I photograph atmospheres, movement and the details that give a moment its soul.

Born and raised in Geneva, I discovered photography through a camera my father left behind. As a child, I tried to understand how a fragment of reality could be held on paper. Since then, I have pursued the same mystery: preserving what is already disappearing.

Emergency response, social work and life in the field taught me to look before pressing the shutter. I photograph close to people, moving quickly when the moment demands it, yet always with discretion and respect. From emergency professions to movements in the street, I am less interested in spectacle than in the human presence that resists it.

Your project

Why should we work together?

Every project begins with careful listening: understanding your subject, your pace and what truly matters. In the field, I work at close range and discreetly, without interrupting what is happening. I look for the gestures, connections and details that tell a story beyond its highlights, in order to create a coherent body of images faithful to the atmosphere that was experienced.
