The series

It was during recruit school that my instinct for photo reportage truly emerged. One year after joining Hospital Battalion 2, I was deployed in support of the civilian authorities during the Covid-19 crisis. Over three years of service in Switzerland, I documented the battalion’s daily life, then continued this work through its refresher courses up to the present day. As Press and Information Officer for Hospital Battalion 2, I photograph briefings, the preparation of medical operations, exercises, periods of waiting and the cohesion that precedes every mission. “In the Field” therefore offers an insider’s view of the battalion’s women and men, their responsibilities and the discreet gestures that hold the group together.
